Links redirecting to mygateway.gateway

Hi,
Recently, while browsing in the last week or so, many links I have been clicking have been redirecting to the Telstra gateway at the following URL, making browsing quite frustrating:

http://mygateway.gateway/

It seems that nothing is abnormal with my connection, the gateway even has a message saying "Your Broadband service is working normally. You are connected online." It only happens occasionally and randomly. It also does not happen in Incognito mode on Chrome. It also happens on other computers on the local network, ruling out dodgy extensions. It has only been happening since we replaced our modem a couple of months ago. Obvious Google searches yield no solutions.
Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem. I set my Gateway Max up and it was running fine but now I get redirected and asked to login. None of my possible logins work. Frustrated.

Hi,

Here are some basics that you can try. When this happens next time can you check to see if the WAN light goes off or red.

If the WAN light doesn't go off or red then please try some of the following troubleshooting steps listed on the following webpage: WiFi Troubleshooting, I find that changing the channel the modem is transmitting the WiFi signal on generally helps.

If the WAN light does go off or red then please try an isolation test. This test will help rule out the most common reasons for dropouts on ADSL services. You can find instructions on how to do this by visiting How to perform an Isolation Test.

If you are still experiencing difficulties after this you can try to perform a reset to factory default on the modem to see if this resolves the issue. Please be aware that doing this will bring the modem back to it's 'out of the box' settings so any modifications you have made will be wiped.

I had the same issue where some links where redirectig to telstra gateway user portal. Yes, changing the channel on the Wi-Fi settings in the Telstra gateway website does help. But for me what helped was physically turning off the router and turning it on after 1 min. If you have a T-Gateway Router for NBN connection then initially the Internet / WLAN / WI-FI LED will glow RED once restarted but all you need to do is Press the ECO button which is at the bottom of the router, once / twice during this time and the router will start indicating the WLAN , Wi-Fi and internet LEDs to GREEN within few seconds. This solved the  issue instantly.

My problem is just the same as described in the original question on this thread. We have had the same modem since we moved into this house yet only in the last week have I been redirected to the mygateway link. I called Telstra and spoke for an hour and tried everything and no solution. It is not a connection problem. It is just not accepting my username or password. What can I do?

Hi Kp6

I've asked our Technical Support guys to take a look at this for you and see if they can provide an answer.

They're quite busy at the moment, so I can't say when they'll be able to reply though sorry.

We have changed our username and password on our telstra account but whenever we are prompted to enter these at the gateway page they do not work.

Hi KP6,

The username to access your billing information on My Account may not be the same one that is used for your modem to log in. The username cannot be changed once it has been set, only the password.

I would recommend that you contact Tech Support on 133 933 or via Live Chat  http://tel.st/gq6m as they will be able to ID you and confirm the correct username that should be used and send you a text message with the current password.

I'm getting the same issue with being redirected to the gateway landing page.

Occurs on Chrome and Edge (only browsers installed).

If I click a direct link or a "recently visited" tab in chrome and edge I can get to those sites. But if I type ANYTHING in manually to the address bar it directs me to the gateway page.

Cortana can access the net and give me direct links and I'm able to use the search field in chrome as well (when you open a blank tab). But that is it, even my phone (windows phone OS) redirected me to gateway!!

Stupidly frustrating. This issue was raised over 6 months ago, why is it not fixed. It's clearly an issue with the telstra hardware since multiple people are recieving the exact same issue.

I've been experiencing this problem for a couple of days - some random web shortcuts redirecting to the modem home page. Not a WiFi problem in my case because the computer is connected to the modem with a network cable.

As one other user mentioned in his reply, the fix for me was to turn the modem off for a few minutes, then back on. All is well now.

Just thought I'd add this in case it helps someone.
